Some of the research topics that I have thought about doing for my report is the basis behind criminal justice. I am thinking about doing this because I am majoring in criminal justice and I think that it will be good for me to get as much background for this as I can so I can better myself for my career. I have some experience in this field because my dad is a police officer and so is my unlce. My grandpa used to be the cheif of police also.

You have a clear connection to this topic, so it's a great start. I'm still not sure exactly what it is you want to research, though. Could you possibly interview your family members as part of your research?
